Bio
I’m Seretse, a social entrepreneur fueled by compassion, philosophy, and a distaste for classism and racism. I have done almost every conceivable job and hustle in the music industry starting from working in the hotel industry in a resident band, playing parties and functions from weddings to graduations, running studios, producing recordings from demos to jingles, touring the world as a Jazz guitarist, Dancehall sideman and being a musical director for international tours and national events.
As an educator, I have taught at all levels from the primary to the college level. I was the Head of the Music Department at EXED Community College and had an integral role in developing the systems and credits for the Performing Arts Department. I have lectured at several institutions and have been a consultant for many organizations at a board level. I’m passionate about making vibrant linkages between the creative industry and education.
I am the founder of Avant Academy of Music where with a growing team we are working to make education as convenient and relevant as possible and to mash down racism and classism at the same time.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching films, especially those of PIXAR and the Marvel Cinematic Universe
